About Me

Welcome to Open Arms Therapy, LLC! My name is Katrina Howard and I am thrilled that you have come to my page to see what I have to offer. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Florida and South Carolina. I have more than 12 years of experience in the mental health field. I obtained my Masters Degree in Social Work from Florida State University while graduating with the highest honors.

I have worked within a variety of mental health settings, including both inpatient and outpatient. My experience includes working with adults, adolescents, children and families. My specialty is in crisis management, treating depression, anxiety, trauma, anger, couple's therapy and adjustment disorders. My treatment approach is eclectic, and I adapt to the unique needs of each client, depending on the problem, the treatment goals, and the person's expectations and motivation. I use a variety of treatment practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing and Strengths Based Therapy.

I know that online therapy is fairly new and it can be scary to share your most inner deepest, darkest moments with someone you are unfamiliar with. I just want you to know that I am a laid back therapist who meets her clients where they are and I tailor treatment based on your needs.
